MIG Welding/Flux Core Welding Workshop
This workshop covers both MIG Welding and Flux Core Welding.
MIG Welding: MIG or Metal Inert Gas welding offers clean, strong welds with less cleanup. MIG welding uses a wire feeding gun that melts and deposits a metal filler into a joint to fuse two pieces together.
Flux Core Arc Welding: Ideal for welding thick or rusty materials, and for working on outdoor applications even in windy conditions, Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) is known for its deep penetration and portability. Flux Core Welding uses a continuously fed tubular electrode filled with flux which protects the weld pool from contamination.

Preparation for Class
Proper Attire: Safety is our top priority in the welding workshop and the right clothing is crucial to protect you from hot metal and sparks. Please come dressed in the following attire to class:
Long-sleeved shirts and long pants - Your pants should be long enough to cover the tops of your shoes as small pieces of metal can fall into your shoes. Wear cotton or denim, do not wear synthetic materials such as polyester which are likely to melt from the hot metal and sparks.
Closed-toed shoes - Any close-toed shoe is sufficient, as long as it completely covers your foot.
Safety Equipment: All necessary safety equipment will be provided (welding helmet, gloves, welding jacket and safety glasses) but feel free to bring your own equipment, should you have it.
Preparation: Welding by its nature is hard work, and can be very taxing on the body and mind, (especially if you have never done it before) so come with plenty of energy and a water bottle to stay hydrated. We recommend bringing a notepad to class, so that you can sketch diagrams and jot down key insights. Effective note-taking is a valuable skill in welding, and it will enhance your understanding and retention of the material.
Class is from 12pm - 4pm, at Arch Production and Design, 167 Western Highway N.West Nyack, NY. 10994
Class is 4 hours long (four hours thirty minutes for MIG Welding) with a 15 minute break halfway through.
